Assignment 12: Essential Question 11-17-17:
I selected this as my essential question for the applicability of it. I aim to become a forensic major in college and a forensic scientist in the far future. Finding such a fascinating bridge between forensics and pharmacogenomics (the department in which I intern) was incredibly exciting for me, as I love both subjects. Forensics is such a broad field and it is constantly changing and upgrading and discovering new tricks. Adding and validating a whole new set of tricks - pharmacogenomics - for forensics is a huge opportunity. In my life, all I want to do is help people. A new method to be used to identify criminals would be an enormous aid in that field of science and, of course, the more effort put into translating pharmacogenomics into forensics, the more effort would be put into researching pharmacogenomics. Everyone wins. Answering a question like this is to the benefit of everyone.
